Ken has spent more than 20 years in healthcare services both in the United States and United Kingdom. During his career he has worked in and then associated with everything from small outpatient clinics to the provision of health services for an entire nation.
In 2002 Ken joined the United Kingdom Department of Health to help deliver the Labour Party’s market-based reform policy as a member of the department’s board. As the Commercial Director General Ken was responsible for implementation of The Independent Sector Treatment Center Program which was designed to add competition to the NHS landscape.
Ken has a unique and relevant perspective on the current debate around the proposed Obama health reforms.
He left the Department of Health in early 2007.
Ken is an adjunct professor of health care management at Imperial College London’s business school.
